Our Staff

Zion Lutheran Church has been served by Pastor Randy Milleville since 1991. Pastor Randy retired after 27 years of devoted guidance and leadership. We are currently in the search process for Zion’s next Pastor and, in the meantime, we have a great variety of guest pastors and deacons leading our services.

April Folckemer

April has been the Office Manager at Zion since January 2000.  Some call her “the voice of Zion” (due to her answering the phones when you call) or “the brains behind the church.”  If you’re looking for information about what is going on at Zion or who you need to contact, April is the person to talk to. She has lived in Clarence Center for close to 40 years where she has been married for 43 years to her husband Hal, together they have raised four daughters.  April’s family have been members of Zion for over 35 years. While members of Zion, they have had 4 weddings, baptisms of 10 grandchilden, and first communions. All of which makes her proud to be an active member of Zion.  When she’s not in the office at Zion, she enjoys spending time with her growing family. April enjoys gardening, reading, exercise, bowling, or spending time at her beach house in NC.  She is leading W.O.W- Women on Wednesday, a gathereing of women who get together for food, fellowship and discussion. She enjoys Book Club and is where ever else she is needed at Zion.

Michael Shamrock

Our Sunday morning organist and pianist recently joined the staff in 2018.  He grew up in a Lutheran church and school, but has been a musician for several other denominations in the WNY area since 2005.   He was excited to return to his “Lutheran roots” at Zion, and bring his varied musical experiences too.

During the week, you can find Michael teaching general music classes and directing his elementary choir in the Lancaster School District.  He also enjoys accompanying soloists, choirs, and musical productions throughout the region too.

Michael resides in East Amherst with his wife and two children.   He loves spending time with his family, traveling, and listening to great music!

Elaine Baker

Our Christian Education Director, is the “big kid in charge of the kids!”  She has passion, joy and creativity that is contagious. Elaine has been at Zion for several years, and has been the Christian Education Director since 2004. She lives in Akron with her husband and two sons.  She loves anything outdoors and especially the entire State of Vermont!

Chris LiPuma

Zion has been Chris’ home congregation since he was 5 years old.  Chris made his first Communion and Confirmation here at Zion.  Looking back Zion’s community has shaped him to be who he is today.  Now he has come full circle.  As Zion’s Director of Youth Ministry he is dedicated to helping kids of all ages experience what he calls “the greatest gift he has received!”  That gift is growing up in a church community that encourages you to be your best while showing the gift of Jesus in our daily lives.  Chris’ love of Youth ministry was discovered at Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center where he served as a counselor and Program Coordinator for many summers.  Chris hopes to have the same influence on kids as they grow in their faith that Zion has had on him. If you would like to become more involved with all things youth, look for him at Zion…you will probably hear him before you see him.
